Manchester United caretaker manager, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has so far been impressed by the amount of work put in by Alexis Sanchez to get back on track. The former Arsenal man has not played since November and is really eager to make it back into the first team under the new manager.
With Solskjaer confirming that Sanchez will be available for their next match against Newcastle said Sanchez has impressed him and described him as “chomping at the bit” to get his Manchester United career back on track. The hamstring injury this season has affected the Chilean goal tally as he only has one premier league goal so far this term.
“[Sanchez] had some great training sessions over the last few days,” Solskjaer said,
“He wanted to be here today as well but we had to manage. Obviously he has been out for a month but he will be involved, yeah.
“He wants to play all the time. He is one of those characters. He made himself available [for Bournemouth] but it was a few days too early for him because he has not really had enough fitness work but he is chomping at the bit.”
With the current form United are, Sanchez will have to work his way into the team as the team is on fire at the moment. 12 goals I three matches means everyone is in high spirit and it will be difficult for a player just returning from injury to waltz into the team but a player of Sanchez’s ability should take time to get his chance and take it.
