Premier League side Manchester United are hoping to complete the signing of Benfica stars Ruben Dias and Joao Felix this summer transfer window, with talks between the two sides already ongoing.
As per Portuguese newspaper Record, and cited by ESPN, Red Devils officials are ready to complete a €180 million swoop for the pair when the transfer window reopens later in May.
The same publication claim that Jorge Mendes is considering a possible move, but there are a number of other top European sides keeping close tabs on Joao Felix and Ruben Dias, including Serie A champions Juventus, La Liga giants Atletico Madrid, Premier League champions Manchester City, Spanish duo Real Madrid and FC Barcelona.
Manchester United will have to pay the massive release clauses in both player’s current contracts to seal their signings, with Felix’s presently prepared at over €120 million and Ruben Dias worth at about €60 million.
Ruben Dias is already a complete Portugal international player and has played more than 70 matches for his current club Benfica since playing his first senior match for the side back in 2017.
A solid and imposing central defender with great technical ability, Ruben Dias could emerge as a defensive leader that the Red Devils so desperately require and the defender is only going to get better as he approaches his peak years of his playing career.
Meanwhile, Felix has been compared to a youthful Cristiano Ronaldo – the Manchester United hero who lifted three English top flight League titles and the prestigious UEFA Champions League during his playing time at Old Trafford.
