Widespread media reports suggest 20-time English league champions are looking to complete the signature of Rodrigo from Spanish La Liga club Atletico Madrid this coming summer transfer window.

As per Spanish media reports, English Premier League heavyweights Manchester United are weighing up an offer to sign Atletico Madrid star midfielder Rodrigo Hernandez this coming summer transfer window.

Spanish publication Marca, as cited by Metro, is suggesting that the Premier League giants are keen on signing the 22-year-old in a reported deal worth about £60million.

As per the same report, the midfielder was strongly connected with a transfer to La Liga champions Barcelona last summer transfer window, but he eventually joined Atletico Madrid from another Spanish club Villarreal.

The same report suggest that United might be in the transfer market for another midfield player this summer as Spain international midfielder Ander Herrera appears he could be prepared to move to French Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain.

The report also suggests that the Red Devils are readying to pay the player’s £60million buyout clause to sign him this summer.

The defensive minded midfielder has been a constant fixture in the team of Atletico Madrid this term, netting two goals in 26 league matches.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils are presently getting set for the opening leg of their UEFA Champions League last-8 clash against La Liga leaders Barcelona on Wednesday evening.

Manchester United are looking to complete a top four finish this term but they presently find themselves in sixth position on the Premier League log.

Only time will tell if United will spend that much on signing a defensive midfielder of his type.
