Manchester united manager Jose Mourinho has disclosed that red devils in-form striker Zlatan Ibrahimovich would continue to threaten and break down premier league defences in United’s coming games following the 35-year olds second half goal which was his 50th goal in 2016 in Manchester United’s 3-1 victory over Sunderland on boxing day according to reports in ManUtd.com.
Zlatan Ibrahimovich is set to seal another one year deal at the club by the end of the season but although there isn’t any concrete proof concerning that, red devils manager Jose Mourinho has no doubts that the veteran forward has what it takes to succeed in the premier league.
The manager was asked if any action has been taken to keep the Swede striker for another season at Old Trafford and the manager said the clause hasn’t been triggered yet but he disclosed that the owners of the club, himself and the striker already have it at the back of their mind and hopefully, they will reach an agreement soon.
The 35-year old striker has adapted well to life in the English premier league since he arrived at Old Trafford from French club Paris St. German but only Chelsea striker Diego Costa has more goals than him in the premier league this season and that has proved that he has the right character to succeed at Manchester united.
Jose Mourinho told ManUtd.com:
“Zlatan is an intelligent player and I am not surprised with his performances so far. He decided to move here where there would be a lot of expectations and probably the most competitive league in the world and that is because he knows what he is capable of”.
